Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble season
The 2016 summer season marks my fifteenth as solo flutist of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, performing Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm throughout the month of July in Pittsburgh's City Theatre. This summer, we celebrate our dearly-departed founder David Stock with works by him on each program. PNME kicks off July 8th and 9th with the world premiere of Russell Pinkston's Off Leash, and continues July 15th and 16th with John Corigliano's Mr. Tambourine Man, Gabriella Smith's Number Nine, and David Lang's These Broken Wings. July 22nd and 23rd, we perform a program of works by Andy Akiho, including Erase, No one to know one, and To walk or run in west Harlem, and finish the season July 29th and 30th with the world premiere of Kevin Puts' In at the Eye and David Stock's The Philosopher's Stone with guest violinist Andres Cardenes.
